... I could make it further, see pic. There were no CBs, but the clouds were down to 1200 to 1500 feet. After reaching 24J, I continued to Lake City, LCQ, and almost turned around, but the clouds lifted again. I finally saw Flying Tiger, and landed straight in on 18. Although it was drizzling, the visibility stayed good under the clouds.

It was a long day but felt good to be home. Overall, what a trip!

Leaving Miami. All Packed. Ready to go. We drove from Miami to Lake City. A little over 400 miles and 4 Superchargers. The charging wasn't bad and was located where and when I needed to stop anyway for food and breaks. Diesel was great and seems to be very happy traveling. He left his mark everywhere!! The weather wasn't the best and some of the rain was really heavy but overall a pretty good ...

We stopped in Gainesville to grab some lunch at place called The Top. Sadly when we did not realize that it would be closed until 5pm. With some food to revive us we were in good spirits for the still long road ahead of us. ...

... along the river. When we got into the water it was freezing. A guy had mentioned to us that it was probably around 71 degrees (f) I'm the springs but most likely 10 or so degrees warmer in the river. And were we glad for the increase in temperature when we hit the river. The springs water was so clear and they also had a few caves that people go diving in but some are smaller than desirable, roughly e width of a basketball. As soon as ...

    ... dirty and stinking hot.

Eventually our fellow campers arrived. One by one we ended up having the Roper's (4 people), Simeons (3 people), Davis' (5 people), Elliotts' (4 people), Hale's (2 People), Johnson/Williams' (2 people), all four of us and four American ring-in's (the neighbours of the Simeion's). The Aussie's had taken over of Turkey Roost and with our flags proudly on display were warding of other interested campers from camping near us ...
