Not so much geographically, today was actually a pretty mild day in terms of hills, but hill country is more than geography. It's a mentality. Two examples from today.

    A) Rob and I walked into a roadside diner just before it opened for lunch around noon. Two gentlemen sitting at the bar, one behind the bar. As I was gazing at it I said to Steve that it reminded me of a movie that I had seen a few years ago with Meryl Streep in it about a white water rafting trip that went horribly wrong. I think it was called "River Wild". Steve said that was funny because he had just seen an article about ...

... out of that grass... it was an evil brown cloud of bugs, and they were landing everywhere, biting through the bike clothes, and even chasing us and getting a few more bites in as we were frantically biking away. it wasn't until we were going about 15 mph again that we were finally free of them. i felt like pigpen from peanuts with them buzzing all around my head! after that break, we agreed that there would be no more stopping until we reached ...
