Nevada [pronounced "Nah-vay-duh"], Missouri. Our plan was to stay in Nevada, MO with the intention of visiting Ft Scott National Historic Site, but it happened to be right in the midst of the government's shut-down. As a result, we explored the small town of Nevada and the Harry S Truman Birthplace State Historic Site in Lamar, MO.

We left Sherman early this morning since today is going to be another long day, but even though we left about nine, when you stop two to three times before 1030, it doesn't make a lot of difference. After a light supper, a short hike and a gorgeous, golden sunset, we sat down with the atlas to make a plan ...

On a lighter note, I think I have been spoiled throughtout my years of driving, our rent a car was a compact Yaris.......Oh my gosh, it did not have auto door locks, no auto windows (i had ...

Time to get out of Dodge!

    Hello again,
Usually when I'm on the bike, I think of all the things I want to say on the blog, but when we finally do get down to writing it my mind goes blank. The following should have been on yesterday's blog.
For the first time, we had a fairly good day in Kansas, it was also the fist time we could enjoy the scenery. Hundreds of cows grazing on luscious pastures on both sides of the road as far as the eye could see. We also saw something quite strange, three people ...
