      The whole town has refused to give in to developers (although it’s under a lot of pressure) and has retained an old town feel in terms of it’s buildings. No high rises, many lovely old original buildings and shop fronts, and no shopping malls at the centre.

      ... in the creek - saw masses of turtles but didnt see any platypus. Also got to see a swimming Lyre Bird ??? The weather was bizarre - we were worried about fires in the beginning and then turned our concerns to floods as we were sitting at the bottom of a very steep valley and if dirt tracks got too slippery it would be hard to get out!       ... were kayaking along for a prolonged amount of time! This really was incredible and something we will not forget. Being out in the ocean with so many dolphins was not only amazing and something we never thought we would was also incredibly relaxing out there with the sound of them and the ocean!       ... a place called Nimbin. This is an old hippy town which developed from the Aquarius festival in the 70s when a bunch of hippies just didn't go home. It is literally one road of tie dye shops, and hemp/weed paraphanelia. The tour is effectively when a bunch of "touros" pay 50bucks to get an organised bus to buy weed and cookies. Met a lovely irish girl so we had a day to remember and we'll leave it at that. You can't walk down the street in Nimbin without being offered weed. ...
