... had been named appropriately after elvis songs. Even a heartbreak lane. We spent the afternoon relaxing by the pool trying not to melt in the humidity. Unfortunately for the rest of the parks patrons we weren't exactly quiet so we cleared the pool area very quickly. ... poor van driver was going to hit the ditch and roll (and I was backing off fast to not be a part of that mess), but the semi pulled back at the last moment and the disaster was averted. It took quite a while before the van driver tried to pass again and he did so much more quickly the second time. When my turn came to pass, you can bet I was by in a flash.

Memphis feels altogether very unloved. A bit abandoned. Lots of empty buildings and spaces, occupied spaces are incredibly run down and dirty. The people are, in general, a little less friendly.

After dinner we went for a walk to Beale street and then
back to the same bar that we went to last night. The bar was much
less crowded, but there was live music and good beer at good prices,
so i had a few drinks, listened to the music and talked to people.
When that bar closed we went to BB kings, where there was more live
music and a few more drinks. I stayed for a bit then walked back to
the hotel and went to bed.

... fountains inside. They had set up most of the exhibits in a building on the property. You could see how a few decades ago it would have been such a peaceful area. Rolling grounds, trees, horses still on the property. Now there is a main highway in front and neighbours' backyards bordering.
