    Tifton, GA

A travel blog entry by hitherthither on Jun 23, 2015

Quite an uneventful day of driving up I75 with tons of truck traffic and not feeling quite up to speed (tiny touch of a cold). We made it to Tifton, GA and found a KOA. As we pulled into our campsite the skies opened with a deluge of rain, thunder and lightening. Bob and Meatball got out; Bob set up the RV and took Meatball for a much needed walk. Neither seemed to mind the rain. I made dinner and had a glass of wine. Nice evening of cable TV and ongoing ...

Sorry that I ditched the blog for a bit. Once we checked into Bay Lake Tower on Disney property, it was a whirlwind! Overall, it was a fun trip. We always love Disney but the heat was really brutal this trip. We definitely didn't have the energy or stamina that we typically do.

Going from the vacation home to the hotel was a weird transition. I think overall we liked staying off property better. A ...

Visited with my lovely Sri Lankan friends - the whole family was home and Samantha ( college student coming off weird hours for exam prep) even got up to greet me. And Dylan and Ryan so 'grown up' now. Sanjiv and Nyanja ( sp?/ my apologies ) both looking well and no older despite the 8-9 yr. passed!!! And good for Sanjiv finally finished with his chemo and now to enjoy a well deserved remission. Such brave souls that face these cancer battles - I've always admired their strength ...

Year 2, Day 127 - Today we drove the backroads from Tifton where our campground was and we sort of stumbled across the "capture site" of Jefferson Davis (and his party as they fled Richmond). This museum (built in 1939) is run by the county and is a bit remote, but it has a great amount of memorabilia to be viewed and it was quite nice. Along with the story of Jefferson Davis, the museum now includes artifacts from the ...

    Six Flags over Georgia!

Today we spent the morning in Six Flags over Georgia theme park! It was a brilliant place, with loads of thrill rides to enjoy :-) our favourite has to be Goliath, it was about 200ft high, and although it didn't go upside down, it was really really good fun! We also went on our first ever stand-up rollercoaster (yes you really did stand up the whole way around!). It was so ...
