Today's reruns of choice were episodes of NCIS, conveniently screened on the same channel as the Law & Order marathon from yesterday. Now we may have still had leftovers, and we may have still been chilling around the hotel until mid afternoon.
We did decide however, that since we had so much time to spare and had explored most of the town already (think of Rutland as like a Bunbury with mountains), that we should start packing ...
... and then after crossing to the other side of the highway, the Diamond Run Mall. It was here that we found our very first JCPenney (not as good as Ellen DeGeneres makes it out to be), and also our first Sears (this was worth the walk). After a little shopping for Jess and a little bit more shopping for me, we decided to head back; that, and there were storm clouds rolling in.

Our first day with no plans, so what do we do? Sleep in of course! We did have to get up eventually, seeing as breakfast finished at 10am (so of course we went down at 9.30am). After breakfast though, we vegged out in our room watching re-runs of anything we could find on TV.
We did eventually get hungry, so decided to go out and have a walk around to see what we could find. We ended up finding ...
... paid for it all and even bought my dinner. He got the hotel because he wanted to print maps, but he never ended up doing that. It seemed like a waste of money to me. 90% of the times that we've had showers at camp, he hasn't taken one, so I don't know why he'd get a hotel room. It didn't fit with his norm. We'll go over on the ferry to Vermont tomorrow, and then he'll start heading south as I continue ...
We had to take the hike up Prospect Mountain. It was almost 2 miles to the top and it was a hike straight up! It was a great hike and once at the top the views were fantastic. On a real clear day they say you can see a 100 miles. It wasn't that clear but we could see pretty good. We thought the only way up was to hike but found a big parking lot at the top. We are glad we did the hike ...
