Lake Champlain got more narrow as the day progressed. The scenery was beautiful, but it's such a shame the last few days have been smoggy. Apparently this is not normal even for hot humid days- the fogginess is being blamed on the smoke in the air from the fires in Washington. Thanks to Otto, I was able to squeeze in another paddle before the end of my season. He drove all the way down to the lower Hudson at Lake Luzerne from Saranac Lake to accommodate me. His grandson Milo was staying with him so I got to meet him.
