Day 10 of 49 (Sep 17). Know how you can tell you're not in Texas? Cross 3 states in 4 hours! Yes, we left Montgomery, AL, crossed Georgia, and entered South Carolina. The worst part of the trip was there were NO rest areas in Georgia, so it was non-stop. We left Friday at 4 AM to get an early start, crossing into South Carolina right around sunrise. We continued on I-85 to Greenville, then headed to Westminster on US-123. In Westminster, we got on US-76 and then turned on Cobb Bridge Road. We then got on the gravel FSR 748 and drove about 2 miles to FSR 748C. Sandy was ...

... fatigue wearing) next door neighbor this is a great location for the dogs and quite comfortable, while house hunting.

One immediate requirement was to find Aaron an apartment as the RV was a little crowded with the 3 of us and the dogs. We luckily found a perfect little studio and he moved in a day after we arrived in the area. The other necessity was to replace Aaron's car that he sold before leaving ...

... we had to fly on a small plane from Fairbanks to the very small village of Bettles and fly from there on an even smaller float plane into each park for a brief hour or two of short hiking.

The major attraction in Glacier Bay NP was the bay itself. We took the day-long boat tour into the bay for a relatively close up look at several glaciers, a couple of which were tidal glaciers that 'calved' huge chunks of ice into the bay. Though we did not get ...
