We drove about 400 miles today. A little further than we had wanted, but we relaxed when we arrived. We are in a very nice RV park, Arkadelphia RV Park. We have driven through much farmland. Soybeans, corn and now some cotton fields. Farmers are praying for dry weather and wind to dry out their fields. We arrived here on Tuesday - planning to stay only 2 nights, but when we woke up this morning to pouring rain and read some of the details about the park we were planning to go to (Millwood Landing RPI Membership Park in Ashdown, AR), we decided to just add another $12/day to the automated check-in machine here at Gulpha Gorge and stay until Monday.

... think my favorite time is fall into winter. The fall foliage is beautiful and the air gets a little crisp feeling. After the leaves are off the trees, hiking is good because temperatures are mild, and you can see things you can't because of the leaves. Also the crowds thin out during the winter.
