    We decide on the ground zero club for dinner and are pleased to find a sizable live band tuning up. Turns out to be a high school band from Victoria BC on a pilgrimage and after a promising start decline quickly enough that we find ourselves rushing for the exit, with the vague feeling that the $5 cover charge would have been better spent at the rock and blues museum. ...

    ... around here where even upmarket places aim for looking 'down and dirty'. I'd have to say they have completely achieved that look here. We have a look inside, which is cavernous and very graffiti-ed. Apparently, they encourage graffiti and every available surface is covered in it. They are about to close up but let us take a few photos before kicking us out.

    ... We know that they close at 5pm and by the time we arrive it is close to 4pm. Fortunately, things run a bit differently out here and although the lady herself has to leave at 5pm, she is happy with us remaining till we're finished.
