... out of our way a shame, still by 11.30 am we were on our way up to mount shasta..
only 40 miles up the road we arrived in Shasta city... we were so lucky that the clouds
opened out and we were able to see mount Shasta in all its glory 20 miles away... the snow covered half of the mountain/volcano and dominated the landscape completely ... this volcano last erupted 200 yrs ago and stopped sending out smoke ...

... skončil tím, jak jsme zavadili o brigádu presování hroznů a sběru kiwi. Takže popořádku. Dva dny jsme pomáhali tlačit hroznové víno jednomu staršímu pánovi v jeho rodinném podniku. Bylo to fajn. Práce šla pěkně od ruky, a mimoto, že jsme si slušně přivydělali, dostali jsme ještě jako výslužku dvě láhve výtečného vína. Pak už nám zůstalo to kiwi. V partě ...

a morning / lunch meeting with great folks at CSUS, then a run for Chico... the folks here are great!
After the meeting my host Prof. DeBrito walked me around campus and the Farmers market before we meet his wife and a colleague for dinner at Sierra Nevada.
