... TripAdvisor, there really isn't much in the way of museums in Boise, some nice parks and riverwalks, but it's going to be over 100 degrees this afternoon so that doesn't sound too appealing.
In the end, the best we could do was to visit the Old Idaho Penitentiary for a guided tour. It was quiet, peaceful, and not too strenuous. It actually turned out to be interesting, thanks to a great tourguide that ...

McCall (pop. 2991, elevation 5000') is one of the most beautiful mountain communities that we have ever visited. And having relatives here gives us a good excuse to visit often. We usually visit off season, that being after Labor Day and before winter sets in.

McCall is located 2 1/2 hours north of Boise. Boise is located in a high desert valley. McCall is located in a dense, green forest dominated by ponderosa pine trees. Needless to say the ...

... the Payette River and Horseshoe Bend. From here on the road will follow the Payette River for many miles. We are in a relatively wide but deep canyon which mile by mile seems to get narrower and the sides of the canyon steeper.

And now the reason for the title of this entry........Eventually the canyon becomes so narrow that there is room only for the river and the narrow roadway. Its very slow going especially when ...

        A Wonderful Visit, McCall, Idaho

McCall, Idaho is definitely a most beautiful town. It sits right on a southern beach of Payette Lake. If one were to walk out the back door of the lakefront stores one's feet would get wet.

The town is about 2800 souls strong but grows to well over 10,000 during the high seasons of summer and winter. The metropolis of Boise is just two hours down the hill and a lot of its residents like to take advantage of the amenities here. This makes for happy ...
