Back at the intersection, I shake my head at the girls before they ask, walk past them and up some stairs behind them. I have noticed a coffee sign pointing that direction.

At the top of the stairs a girl asks me if I want a massage. Should have seen that coming.

Shaking my head, I walk past her to a ****** cafe that has a little dodgy coffee machine. Nope.

... out a Maxibon and devoured it before the sun could melt the chocolatey goodness. The Gold Coast skyline reminded me a scene from the movie Inception - when Leo washes up on the beach and the high rise city crumbles into the ocean. There was no crumbling going on but the juxtaposition of the modern concrete structures and golden sandy beach was really pronounced. ... our hotel, which is lovely, we were upgraded again to exec level but our room wasn't ready so we headed out for a walk around. Anyone who has been to Surfers Paradise will know, this place is a bit tacky and very touristy/beachy, very different to Singapore and Brisbane. We kinda knew what to expect, but we were a bit shocked to see the main pool area was very much like a zoo- with kids running around everywhere! How dare they. Hopefully we will find ...
