After leaving Butte, it was already after 6:30 p.m. so we headed on to Missoula, still two hours away. On the way (earlier in the day), we booked lodging at Lolo Hot Springs - a little southwest of Missoula but also a little further along the way towards home. They had a reasonable price compared to many of the motels we looked up in Missoula. Also, we thought the hot springs might be a nice little bonus we could take advantage of.
