... a milky quality and refracts the sunlight beaming down. Hence the brilliant colour. Now I think I have remembered all this correctly but if not, please correct me. If it is wrong ,blame the Lonely Planet, I copied all this from their guide. Ah , even you know that I am not that clever.

... Mt. Cook is the highest mountain in New Zealand at 12,025 feet and is beautiful. As we approached the area we drove beside Lake Pukaki that was turquoise blue from the glacier melt. Every time we stopped it got prettier (see pictures). When we got to the village, Mt. Cook was held in clouds but still beautiful.

Outside Peter noticed some soaped up sports production cars going by (actually the noise they made it would have been difficult to miss them). They were part of a rally driving down the east coast. Day 22 - Mt Cook to Rangitata

... properly repaired yet, so one end is boarded up and held up by metal posts. The walk back was about 6km and passed through sheep, cow and deer fields. Typical New Zealand!

The evening was quite relaxed, with us all joining for a group barbeque and then chilling out and watching a film in the evening. It was The Hangover if you're interested. Early nights all round as the bus was to set off at 7am the next morning.
