      Our son, daughter and son-in-law were able to join us in southwestern Florida on the island of Matlacha (pronounced Mat-luhshay) for the week of Christmas.       ... Pier to a little waterside café for a light lunch. Able to sit oceanside under the trees munching our lunch , while watching the many surfers taking advantage of the waves created by the latest ‘front’ to go up through the Mexican gulf ….not a wet suit in sight - just riding the waves in their shorts and T shirts. G , at the end of the day, was SOOOO happy with his new clubs, and they are going back to NZ with him……watch out Derek and Ross!!!!!

      ... family home base for Jan and Garry, Northport near Pt Charlotte. We had breakfast en route at Mackers, and then took a path down through the middle of Florida, past a Bartow, (same name different state as where the dairy farm is,)
      Also Arcadia where it looked like NZ with cattle grazing behind fences! Also a lot of citrus grown in this area.
