... We made it to the campground, rested and then had to go again. We decided to go back to Shasta City which was a few miles west of Redding. This was a town which the State bought in the 60's and made an Historic Park. The Courthouse which was built in 1855 was restored to what it looked like in 1861 and is a museum complete with a court room. ... 9th tallest dam (when built in 1945 it was behind Hoover and Grand Coulle) and the reservoir (Lake Shasta) is the largest capacity in California. It was both a beautiful and sad sight....The lake is so low. I guess we should call our trip thru CA as the low reservoir trip as that is all we have seen and they have been so low. The Last Days

We spent the last 3 days back in Redding with Josh and his new family.

We drove back there on Friday from Lancaster. Such a long way to go but worth it to be with everyone. Next time we will come for a longer time and explore more. It would have been great to divert to Yosemite but we just didn't have the spare days. The hills heading out of LA are spectacular.
