Tolles Motel!

          ... the ankle folks!

Speaking of hiking, Mount Greylock happens to be part of the mighty Appalachian Trail (lets call it AT for short!) As in the AT! At 2,100 miles long running from the State of Georgia all the way through to Maine you could say the 5 1/2 month expedition is one hell of a hike laced with all sorts of nasty surprises along the way...not to mention a few blisters!

... bar counter and tables and chairs were amazing. The bar was set up overlooking the Hudson, and the band played in an open building (these are both covered of course!) a small distance from the bar. There were booths with chairs and tables connecting the two buildings, and in the "courtyard" there were also some chairs and tables. I imagine on a clear hot night this courtyard is filled with people dancing, but tonight's downpour and cooler temperature ...

... good service, very nice man, looks like a nice marina in case anyone is in the area! Troy Federal Lock was the only one without hanging ropes, we had to loop our lines around a pipe instead. After the last lock we hit tidal waters.... time to pay attention and plan our runs accordingly from now on. It was interesting to pass through the bigger cities of Troy and Albany, and for me it was fun to see Albany from a completely different point of view! After Albany's shipping yards ...

Both John and Tricia are very active in the arts community, and were in the process of putting together the finishing touches to the Autumn Chamber Music Series, to be held in four different locations in the Berkshires, over the next few weeks.

          1. Tolland State Forest, East Otis, MA Site 23 93 sites

This is definitely forest camping on Otis Reservoir, which is a scenic lake peninsula. No hookups and there are only about 25 sites out of 93 for trailers and RV's. Our site was down a long rocky driveway slanted to the lake with a picnic table and firepit overlooking the lake. We could have put ...
