... lit like the dusk about 30 minutes after the sun has set. You could see to walk, but it was quite dim. They had lighting scattered throughout the cavern, highlighting certain speleotherms (stalagmites, stalactites, etc.), but all the light they used was white light, no colored lighting. Yet again another wondrous experience to see 200,000 bats fly out of their cave to load up on their dinner and to get food for babies just hanging around in cave for their daily food ...

    Spring Break in caves

On this short trip we climbed Guadalupe peak which is the highest point in texas standing at 8,751 feet. It took total 7 hrs to climb 8.4 miles for the round trip. My kids and husband made it before me. I took almost 1/2 hr more than them to climb. The climb was rewarding but there is not much to look around. Just a one time visit. We stopped at a china buffet place to replenish all the lost calories.
