    Summary

Drove 112 miles in 1.5 hours.

    Highlights

I had no idea that Cape Cod was this close to Boston, it was a very easy and fast drive. I'm sure that in high season the route we took would be clogged up, however we had it almost to ourselves.

It was sunny though not hot enough for a swim in the ocean, so the locals were saved from that sight for another day. We stayed in West Dennis which is about the dead centre of the ...

Fred and I took a taxi to Quincy Market....a pedestrian shopping street that seems to go for miles and ...

... traverse the small streets. Along the route, we found a fantastic Portuguese Bakery and had to go back a second time, it was so good. We then toured the Old Town Hall building - such beautiful architecture!

There is a wonderful theater community in P-Town, which I love about it. Playing in a couple of days from our visit were Carol Channing and Tommy Tune - ...

... care of a true treasure.

A trip to this area of the Cape is not complete until you go to Nauset Beach and eat the Fried Clams (my favorite) or the Lobster Roll. And, unfortunately (and I mean that in a GOOD way), we ate many!!! In my day it was called Philbrick's and now Liam's; but the food is still excellent!! The water is still COLD, 54 degrees (back in the day that didn't bother me, but now??? Nah...) and the waves still fun to body surf in (but ...
