So Fred (our tour guide) told us we were going to walk about six to 8 blocks to the Melbourne Gaol... It felt more like 20. It's sad what the people had to go through back then... Especially if the just take a loaf of bread. Times were hard back then and most of the people would have gotten extremely sick or died of starvation because the state was talking all their money. There ...

My day ended with a phone call with my family who sang down the phone to me and went into hysterics at me being sick into a man's newspaper, which still makes me laugh even as I type it ;-) :D

Thanks so much for all the lovely wishes and remembering despite the distance x

I'm not sure what category we've fallen into yet?

We've met a whole variety of people I never knew existed; Weird laughers, posh Aussie twits, nutty old people, troll families (who seemed to be unresponsive to anything I asked them... "How are ya doing? I'm Heather from Aussie Farmers, have you heard of us?" To which they responded: vacant expression, both eyes repelling against each other, like a couple of weird antimagnetic balls)... Reminded me of the troll ...

... some penguins moving through the sand on their bellies as they are full from eating too much fish - I was definitely feeling like a fat penguin after my dinner! We had a good view of the penguins when we were walking back down the boardwalk and noticed they run so funny! Its a shame that cameras aren't allowed but was a good experience to see anyway even if it was a little cold! Left the penguins at 9.45pm and made the 2.5 hour bus journey ...
