      ... a giant neon Cowboy welcoming you to the closest casino, and if you cross into Nevada, it’s an hour earlier and also you can gamble your life away and then some. Cross back in to Utah, and it’s desolate and quiet, no lights; just a few motels along the highway. Eerie. Anyway, the hotel and this area is near the Salt Flats, a big car racing area, which Ken and Ryan got excited about, even though there was no racing at that time.

      Then it was off to Bonneville, a place Kevin wanted to experience as he had read/heard of it many years ago in connection with land speed records being set and broken. We had researched and knew there was a meet that weekend so we thought we would see what it was all about.       ... is suffering pretty bad from the recession, as a lot of stores were empty, and houses and buildings were boarded up. No HRC for us, so we found a place called Spaghetti Factory. Pretty good food there, and I loved the raspberry ice tea, had 3 glasses of it. Europe can learn a thing or 2 from US restaurants like bottomless drinks!
      Dinner in we went back to the hotel, time to crash. As tomorrow is another big travel day towards Yellowstone National Park.
