... a defence training base - is sparsely populated and I can't really imagine why anyone would want to live here.
Our morning stop was at the Joshua Tree visitors centre just before we entered the National Park.
Very rugged country in the park - Joshua Trees coming into view. They don't grow arms until after they bloom for the first time.

... believe our luck!! We were just saying that day we wish we knew someone with a boat here haha. We were keen so we left the van in the street and went to the harbor with the boys drank red wine, smoke weed and ate. Minus of course the ****** food. We have managed some lovely food, but it was certainly outweighed by not so good stuff. I think we are getting used to the coffee as it hasn't been so bad lately.

... It turns out we have a bit of family history here as well as back in San Luis Obispo. Rick's Mom e-mailed us that his Dad proposed to her on Stearns Pier in Santa Barbara way back when. It's a beautiful and romantic place. How cool it was to be able to visit the spot where those two kids had started their lives together so many years ago. What a treat!

Well that's all for this edition of our blog. From here it's off to Ventura.
