Aboslutely the best place to stay!!
The Blue Moon Motel at 8445 Lundy's Lane in Niagara Falls,Canada is a great place to stay!! The rooms are very clean and comfortable. The service is great. The room we stayed in had a heart shaped jacuzzi with mood lightning and a queen bed and was absolutely great. They supplied you with bubble bath for the jacuzzi and also with shampoo, conditioner and saop. There was a color television, a/c and a lovely fake fireplace that was beautiful and also was a heater. There also was a mini refidgerator, microwave and coffee pot with cups, coffee, sugar and creamer. Our room was cleaned every day and fresh towels were always left along with coffee, sugar, creamer and soap if needed. The bathroom was smalll but it was very clean . The price for the room for was extremely reasonable. . .infact we thought it was very cheap compared to other hotels by the Falls. We ended up paying around $90 (US) for the room per night including taxes. Althought you are a distance from the falls the shuttle bus runs right by the motel, and at $6 a day for a pass it is well worth it. . ..cheaper than renting a car, gas and parking!!!
I would reccommend this motel to anyone wanting a great place to stay in Niagara Falls!!
Nice clean place
I stayed at this motel recently June 3, 2005 and enjoyed my stay. The room was very clean and came with a kitchen which I shared with a relative who stayed in an adjoining room. All the children had a great time in the heated pool and new playground area. There were picnic tables for eating outside and a gas grill if you needed it. The price was very good also. I will definately stay here again while in the area. It is a 10 min drive to the falls. Outlet shopping and restaurants are close by.
Great place, exceptional value!
We periodically visit Niagara Falls either for nature trips or casino night out. The last time, we decided not to go to a mega or chain hotel which offers partial view or "almost a view" of the Falls. Instead, we drove up Lundy's Lane to stay in a smaller place. We went to the Blue Moon Motel and we must say that we made a very good choice.
We had a Jacuzzi suite, #5, a cozy, beautifully decorated room with a canopy queen brass bed and heart-shaped Jacuzzi appropriately lit with red light and wrapped with mirrored walls. There was a small electric fireplace as well. You could also watch the ceiling mounted TV from Jacuzzi. While this was not one of their larger rooms, it managed to nicely accommodate a makeup table, small fridge, coffee maker and sitting area as well. Details like candles and flower arrangements completed the attractive setting. All this for an incredibly low price!
While many motels in the area have pools visible from the street close to traffic, their heated pool is located nicely at the back in a private setting. There is a row of trees providing partial shade. It was not busy and we were there on a very hot day. Beside the pool is a BBQ and grass picnic area, with umbrella tables and picnic benches. All this creates a relaxing atmosphere as if you were visiting friends' or neighbors' backyard rather than being at a commercial establishment.
The family who owns and runs this motel is striving to make everything perfect and they are definitely succeeding. The owners, Doris and Ron are extremely friendly and go out of their way to please. We have been there twice now and we can say without hesitation that this is great value for the money. They have a large repeat clientele which does not surprise us. Clean, cozy, relaxing and affordable!
Excellent Value, Nice Location Plus Owner's TLC
Our two month journey found us departing the sunny beaches of Maui for the Blue Moon Motel. Aside from weather shock we arrived for our four-day stay at Blue Moon late in the Niagara season, the 3rd week of October, 2004. All the positive Trip Advisor comments we had reviewed, in particular regarding the Owner's TLC, proved totally accurate.
Doris, the owner, warmly greeted us and kindly upgraded us to their larger one bedroom family 'suite' with full kitchen, separate BR, dining table and LR plus two TV's. This welcome upgrade was likely due to the motel's lower occupancy at the time of our 'end of season' arrival. Yes, Blue Moon fits into the 'oldy but still goodie' category as attested to by our unit's fit but somewhat aged furniture and an old remote TV. Most important, our unit was very clean, super comfortable and was the equivalent of a one bedroom apartment. A similar sized hotel SUITE would cost literally $100's at any high end hotel and even then you would never see a full size kitchen.
Their delightful cleaning woman was a hoot. We chatted several times and when checking in she insisted on carrying one of our two hefty 50lb bags up the stairs to our second floor suite.
Since the season had ended one weak earlier the Lundy Lane direct bus was no longer running. Doris and her husband insisted on DRIVING us the 3 miles or so to the falls EACH morning of our stay which saved us a daily $12 taxi ride. As if this was not enough Doris also offered to drive downtown in the evening to pick us up. We were astounded but had enough sense to politely decline noting she had already gone above and beyond...and we took taxi's back each night. When, at checkout time, we asked Doris to arrange a taxi to Avis car rental for our 90 minute drive to Toronto Doris again insisted on driving to the Avis rental office.
Our room's off season rate, at about $59 U.S., was astounding. By no means fancy, but we shall fondly recall one of the best BARGAIN motel stays in our long travel history.

Great value and great location
I have stayed at the
Blue Moon several times and always found the staff to be very courteous and the rooms clean, comortable and reasonable priced. In addition although it is not located right at the falls or the casino there are many other things to do and the hotel is in close proximity to all of them.
I just got back from my four nite stay at the Blue Moon Motel and I couldnt have asked for anything better. The rooms were clean and very well kept. The owner was absolutely awesome and was very helpful, without her my boyfriend and I wouldnt have done half of the things we got to do while we were staying there. She provided us with directions, coupons and recommendations and so on. The outside heated pool and BBQ area seemed to be the nicest i had seen from all the hotels in Niagara falls. My boyfriend and I were very satisfied with our room, prices, etc. and would recommend this motel to anyone who would be staying in that area. Thanks for making our trip great!!
The blue moon is great
We stay every summer at the Blue Moon. The rates
are very reasonable, the rooms are clean. It's close to the Factory Outlet Mall, Go Karts, Super Putt, Clifton Hill etc etc. The restaurants in this area are cheaper than on Clifton Hill. They have a lovely pool with a real deep end (unlike many hotels at the Falls)., and because its a smaller hotel the pool is never packed as in many of the larger hotels. They also have a BBQ & picnic area. It's near some great fruit farm & markets also. I highly recommend this hotel.
An e-mail dated 31st July, 03 in this review gave a scalting report of their stay at the Blue Moon Motel, the writer, unnamed and chosing to remain annonymous by not noting their e-mail address, have by indicating a description of the owners behaviour and the state and care of the rooms, either never been to this motel or confused the name with another establishment or in the worst case deliberately set out to slanderously damage a hard earned good reputation. As owner/operators of the establishment for over 11 years my wife and myself have worked hard to provide good accommodations and services, for all of our customers. We are a small family oriented motel with at least 75% customer return, many of whom advise others to stay with us; a loyalty, greatly appreciated by ourselves, is not something that can be earned by the standards described in the July 31st review. We also extend an invitation to (a) any visitors of our area including accommodation inspectors. (b) Those responsible for this review site. (c) the writer of the July report, who say they are revisitng the area in August. To make sure of their facts. To visit, meet us and see our establishment, we have a web site --------. We would like to thank a writer from the Toronto area for their comments regarding the Blue Moon Motel and we are happy to have been able to serve you and welcome. Blue Moon Motel Owner/Operator
If you want to stay at a motel where the owners keep you up all night yelling at each other and watching TV. Then stay at The Blue Moon. Our stay was very unsatisfactory. The owners kept me and my family up all night with their loudness, my daughter found a mouse in our motel room, there were so many bugs and centipedes in our room we couldn't count all of them. We asked for a different room, to that we found body hairs and food crumbs in our so called "clean" sheets. We are going back to Niagara Falls at the end of August to make up for our awful stay at this motel.
Excellent, Family Owned
Don't be fooled, this establishment was clean and offered excellent friendly service. I have not much more to say but the bottom line is that we're going back this week (Aug 1st) for the third time!

... arrived at Niagara Falls in time for a late lunch at The Keg at Embassy Suites looking over the falls. Very acceptable. Then down to the viewing areas where I spent the best $6 EVER. We bought plastic bags, well sort of, with hoods and sleeves. We were getting drowned! For a bunch of world travellers, we are sometimes quite ridiculous about things. We just weren't prepared for the amount of water that was hailing down on us.

The 'hornblower' is the name of the Canadian boat ride at the bottom of the falls (not 'maid of the mist' as most people think - that's the american one). We bought our tickets and were given red ponchos to wear. We definitely needed them, as we ended up getting a small shower by all the mist coming off the falls. The warm day was accompanied by a gusty breeze which sometimes kept the mist blowing the other way, ...
