    ... cops on horseback made sure people were off the street a half hour later. We were beat and had New Orleans tomorrow so we called it a night, said goodbye to Ilya and passed out.

    Before leaving Austin the next day we went to Rudy's Gas Station BBQ and got a tank of gas and some of the best BBQ on the trip. While I came into Texas thinking I just couldn't wait to get out, I will admit that the people and places were a lot of fun. Next up, NOLA.

    Lafayette to Austin was a massive drive! The second longest of the whole trip. We left at maybe 9am and got to Austin around 4pm. A few of us - maybe 10 - went down to a restaurant Jenee suggested - her friend works there - for cocktails and dinner.
