... amazing dance partner who's name I have forgotten!) and they invited me to go Two Stepping with them to a place called The Broken Spoke. It sounded hilarious so I agreed. The place is exactly as I would imagine a Texas Dance Hall, loads of older people with big bushy mustaches and huge cowboy hats. The band were really good too, a guy named Weldon Henson. ... to Austin. 587 miles, 9h 2m
Now we just have to wait 6 more days, and pack, probably run a bazillion errands! But it's almost here and we're so excited not only for the trip but see so many friends and family we haven't seen in years!

We waited maybe 45 minutes right before sunset, and then out they came. Not a few bats, but in excess of one million. They came out from under the bridge in droves for a good 20 minutes....quite a remarkable sight.

After that, Mexican dinner (yay!) for our 10 year anniversary, and then back to camp.
