... altitude, the skies were clear and there were surprises around every turn. I actually stopped to take pictures to make sure I got good ones. The GoPro was on the fritz. I have to figure that out now but the majesty of the Northern Cascades National Forest was breathtaking.

The road was a great road and, without traffic, 60mph was fun and easy.

... it, but it was still fun to go on the tour, especially putting on my pious demeanor.

The next day we went up to Omak lake, and climbed the hill for a balanced rock. Loved this place!!! We're going to go back there and camp for a week, maybe, after we get permission from the Colville Indians on whose reservation it sits. Had a great time with the Hatches, and look forward to seeing them again in Cabo where we get together frequently, to much gaiety.

... game on big screen. Housekeeping, a movie and bed. Short drive on Friday although with sightseeing it took most of the day. Stayed at Soap Lake, Washington, a comfortable but road noisy campground, pool and hot tub which Donna and Barb frequented. Soap lake is highly mineralized and attracts visitors worldwide for it's healing properties. There is an area where you can wallow in the mud for extra therapeutic value. Unfortunately we did not stay long ...
