    ... A little late for us, besides it was time to go.
    As we rode up and out of the dam area, we stopped at the scenic vista where you normally watch the laser light show to take some pictures during the day. It was a really beautiful vantage point, and you could really see the entire valley. Once we got back on WA-174W out of the Columbia Valley, the scenery abruptly became boring again.     ... casino, just opened. Had a lot of fun, but they still had a lot of detail work to do.

    Ray and Phyllis came on Saturday night and we had a nice dinner; enjoyed catching up with the latest with great friends that seem to be full of fascinating experiences. They considered staying at the Casino, but decided on something closer to Omak.     ... the last few hours were spend in wine country along the coast of a huge lake...it was by far the prettiest place I have ever seen. (Close 2nd to AK maybe)...Orchards, farms, thousands of horses and ranches.... I will look up city names and lake names in a few days when I have more time. I am exhausted today, we drove 13 hours.

    ... just below. What feats of engineering and construction genius! At the Gorge Dam we saw chinook salmon getting ready to spawn and the beautiful gardens and falls surrounding the dam. It was a perfect evening for a campfire, and we grilled and ate our dinner outside as two mule deer munched on some apples just a few yards away from us. We're planning to move on to Chelan tomorrow-just 60 miles south. It's been three weeks since we left home. Pretty hard to ...
