    The Main Street in Barstow is part of historic Route 66 so we cruise down and pick our home for the night - Stardust Inn. We got the room for a cheap and cheerful price of $45. We drop our stuff and head to Denny's for dinner. We get a talapia with mash and veggies and a chicken noodle soup to share. After dinner we stop by the local grocery store to stock up on necessities and get back to Stardust to chill.

    ... into two, then we decided to stay a month so we were at Lone Wolf for over six weeks. This areas big claim to fame was that TV/movie husband and wife, Roy Rogers and Dale Evans lived here for many years. There was once a wonderful museum of memorabilia devoted to them, first in Apple Valley and then it moved to Victorville. I was fortunate enough to have visited both locations.     Kids so excited and had a ball and we were given free vouchers for hot dogs. Not sure if they tasted nice or that fact that they are bad for you and they were free. Barstow is a dusty town and we were right on the highway, however the pool and accommodation we great. We swam for a couple of hours before having dinner and calling it a night. ...
