    Fabulous place to stay!

Owners were so friendly. Great motel, excellent location. I felt extremely comfortable during my 3 day stay. I was alone and feeling safe was of great importance. Loved seeing the washed comforters hanging out on a line to dry...who does that anymore? Great extra touches!

    Wow...this place is great!

    from

I wasn't sure what to expect, but I had read good reviews here so decided to give this motel a try for our 5 nights in the Dells. We were very impressed!! Now, there's no water park like some of the fancy, expensive hotels; but for a very reasonable price we had an extremely clean room and very pleasant stay. First, this was probably the cleanest motel/hotel that we've ever stayed in (and we've been in a lot). We were in Room 58 which is an end room, and it was very quiet. We liked having the little table and chairs right outside the door so we could sit and talk when the kids were sleeping...never bothered by any bugs/mosquitoes outside either. Indoor pool was nice with a very hot, hot tub. There was also a sauna which we didn't use. On our last day we discovered that there was a 2nd hot tub and sauna over in the office building, but we never had time to check them out. There was also a nice outdoor pool and a little kiddie pool.

We liked having the refrigerator (with small freezer) and the microwave and we did all of our breakfasts in the room. The room was airconditioned (window/type unit). The two double beds were comfortable. There was a tv but we never had time to turn it on. I was thrilled that they had onsite laundry ($1.75 washer and an additional $1.75 per dryer). The last night I fell asleep in the laundry room waiting for my clothes to dry and the owner was nice enough not to lock up until after I left (at midnight). The family that owns this place works so very hard and they were helpful with restaurant suggestions, etc.... It's in a nice neighborhood and we took walks down the street and by the high school. It's close to everything, yet far enough away to be out of the "craziness" of the Dells. We will definitely stay here again on our next trip to the Dells.

    Big....Clean Rooms

    from

I just got back from a short trip to the Dells. I didn't know what to expect from the Black Hawk, but I must say that it was everything I have read about. The rooms are spacious and sparkling clean. The only problem I had was a miscount when I turned my towels in. They claimed I only turned in three when I am sure it was four. I don't know what to expect from that since I just arrived home. This little hotel is off the beaten path and was sooo comfortable I didn't want to leave. I had two adjoining rooms and I couldn't even hear my two teens in the other room. The tv's had large screens, microwave and little refrigerator. All rooms except for the kitchenettes were just outside your door. Downtown wasn't close enough for me to walk to, but my teens took off and didn't mind the walk at all. I plan on staying there again next summer.

    BlackHawk motel, nice & clean

    from

The BlackHawk was a nice ma & pa place to stay. It's not fancy, but it's very clean and the owners treat their guest very well. The motel accidently booked me in a room that was already booked so they called me the next day to ask if it was ok to up grade me to a bigger two bedroom room. I was pleased with the upgrade. Our kitchenette was 70's style, but the kitchen was fully equiped with everything one would need to cook a full meal. I would stay there again.

    Very Clean Motel

    from

My wife and I stayed here over Memorial Day Weekend. We planned our trip at the last minute and finding a reasonable rate on a Holiday weekend wasn't easy. We found this little "Mom and Pop" place on the internet and booked a room. We were skeptical at first, but once we arrived we were greated with a very friendly and helpful staff. The room (single room with king size bed on upper floor, room 7 to be exact) was a typical motel room with refridgerator and microwave. What caught our eye though was the cleanliness. I don't know if this was the opening weekend for them or not, but this room was immaculately clean. In places where you would typically find dust in a 3, 4, or 5 star hotel there was none! It was somewhat different in the fact that they used liquid body wash in the bathroom and shower as opposed to bar soaps and shampoo, but it worked for us. This place was older but very well maintained. The upper balcony (as well as all other rooms) had lawn chairs and a little table outside the room, ideal for relaxing at the end of the day. This may not be the place for someone looking for all the perks of other places (continental breakfast, shampoo and conditioner, writing tablets, etc.) but if your looking for a nice clean room to sleep in at night and maybe watch a little TV (almost 100 channels) this is the place. Nice restaurant a block away (Family Chef) with full line menu. They also had both an indoor and an outdoor pool, as well as assigned parking at your door. I will make it a point to stay here again.

    Great Hotel

    from

This hotel was immaculate and the staff was very nice and made checking in a breeze. They even got me in two hours early. It was easy to make reservations and I would definately pick this hotel first to stay in next time I visit the dells.

    Great motel!

My husband and I stayed at the Black Hawk Motel and thought it was well kept, clean, and very efficient. The motel owner was very friendly and accomodating. I would recommend this place to anyone and we will definitely stay there again.

Great Place at a Great Price

    from

I love this place. I've stayed 4 times now and will continue to do so for all future Wis Dells trips. The place is really clean and affordable; two swimming pools!!! Well worth the price.

    Nice place

    from

Me and my husband went there last year and from the pictures I thought that it wouldn't be the best place, but I also didn't want to spend alot of $$ for a hotel.. We got there and it was very nice and clean.. The pool ( indoor and outdoor) was very nice especially the hot tub.. The game room is small but was nice, and the staff was especially nice to us. I would recomend this hotel to anyone, even with people who have children..

Sept. 17th (Tues) drove to Wisconsin Dells. Hadn't heard of it but was told there would be lots to do and see there. The biggest 'fun and games' town ever seen. Many huge water parks, roller coasters, miniature golf places, Ripley's Believe it or not, etc. Loads and loads of Motels and resorts. A kid's paradise really.

We are headed to Columbus, Ohio to visit Kent's cousin, have our tires rotated, restock at Trader Joe's, then keep on moving. The eastern states and Maritime Provinces are calling!

We stayed at a KOA near the water park Wednesday. I got up around 8:30 to do laundry. We headed to the water park around 11:00 and stayed until about 4:00. We stopped to get some cheese curds of course since we are in Wisconsin. Planning to make it past Chicago for the night then finish the drive on down to Indiana Friday and hopefully be home by evening. It has been a great family trip. Looking forward to sleeping in my own bed for one ...
