Cheap, clean, close to the beach

    from

I spent 5 very nice days at the Birch. The motel is old, but well kept, and most importantly very clean. The beach is only 2 blocks away. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Overall: nothing fancy, but for the location the price is great!

    Excellent family motel

    from

My wife & our 3 sons had a lovely week at the Birch Patio. The accommodation was clean and comfortable. Angela & Tony really made us feel very welcome & at home. It really nice having them on site compared with some of the impersonal chain motels we also stayed at while on holiday. There was a range of guests staying at the same time including families and individuals and everyone I spoke to was also very pleased with the Birch Patio. We walked to the beach nearly every morning for a swim in the sea and swam in the motel swimming pools in the evening. We enjoyed staying there so much that at the end of our holiday we changed our plans and came back to Fort Lauderdale to stay in their other motel nearby, the Napoli Balmar!

    Sunny vacation

    from

This was our first time at the Birch Patio Motel and Angela was so nice and the place was so clean we had an effiency I love all the space the maid that cleaned our rooms were very very sweet and I was super happy with our stay and I would recommend this motel for others and our future return stays. Angela and her husband made the vacation so wonderful that I would return again and again the owner made you feel like family . Susan C and John I Timko from Delaware

    Bargain by the Sea

The Birch Patio was a great deal. It was really close to the beach. If you are in town to site-see and enjoy the beach this is the right place. You can grill and kitchens are available to cook in. The staff was very friendly and helpful. This is especially a good spot for families. If your looking for all the luxuries of a hotel look elsewere. The Birch Patio supplies a clean and family enviroment. I'll deffently return if I go back to Ft. Lauderdale.

    Arrêter de chercher

    from

    Nothing special, overrated!

    from

I'm mystified why this motel has received excellent reviews. I stayed here for several days in February based on the reviews. When I went to my room I didn't realize that a worker was painting the stair rails with white Rustoleum oil-based paint. No signs were in place warning anyone of this activity. I was wearing an expensive black windbreaker and got paint all over it. The owner of the motel gave me some spot remover but I knew it wasn't going to get the paint off as it was water-based. I don't even recall her apologizing for the incident. Fortunately, the employee came back from a coffee break and he gave me some paint thinner to remove the paint off my jacket. I spent about 30 minutes doing this. Then I washed the jacket to get rid of the paint thinner odor. The room I rented was quite small, about 10 feet in width and in the back of the motel. Light was minimal. The toaster was on the floor as there was no room for it. The motel has no charm, few if any trees...just a few bushes. So the place has a sterile look and feel about it. Ditto for the Napoli motel next door. You can do better elsewhere, in my opinion.

Clean and reasonable, close to ocean

    from

Larry and I stayed at Birch Patio four nights before our cruise in November, 2006, one night the day we got back and our last night before we came home. Virginia and Angela we so nice and helpful. Yenny the housekeeper is very personable and helpful. We stayed in an efficiency and it was always clean.

One thing we noticed our last night there that was new is the welcome pack in the bathroom with toothpast,e mouthwash,

soap, etc in it. We definitely will stay here anytime we are in Lauderdale. If you like seafood go to Old Florida Seafood in Wilton Manors and for Strombili go to Times Square Pizza on Oakland Blvd.

    Cleanest Motel there is!

Very impressed with the friendly manner of everyone we had contact with. Our efficiency was cleaned daily and always left spotless...very impressed!

Overall, I would rcommend The Birch Patio Motel to everyone and we will be staying there again.

    Birch Pation - vacation

    from

The Birch Patio is very nice. We stayed there for 2,5 weeks and enjoyed the time there. We stayed in an apartment. It was very nice, clean, comfortable and quite. In the kitchen you can find whatever you nee. Napoli Belmar also offers a big barbecue place and washing machines. There are three nice pools, where you can relax. It is only a two-minutes walk to the warm-sandy beach. The owners are so helpfully and so nice. They helped us planning our tours and gave us important information four our trips discovering Fort Lauderdale and South Florida. The owners can also speak italian. A bus (no 11) is running every half hour into the city (1$) (the bus stopp is only a three-minutes walk far away). It is only a five minutes walk to the next small supermarket. I really can recommend it.!

Our close-friend Germaine and her son Roman joined us for a buffet dinner onboard and a tour of the ship and then it was time to say 'au revoir' and 'settle-in' for the 'long-ride' to Europe.

Somehow or another, Captain made his way back to the wheel and somehow (and perhaps in spite of us) our dependable seaworthy vessel righted herself. And just like that, we made our entrance into Biscayne Bay.

Once we entered the bay the waters became calmer due to the wind being blocked by the land mass of Key Biscayne. Even so, it was a rough chop, making steering ...
