We left Helena on Thursday and stopped on the Recreation Road along Prickly Pear Creek in Wolf Creek Canyon for the night. We camped at an old favorite spot near the turn-off to Lyon's Creek. Our site, number one, was right near the creek and quiet. We rarely heard any traffic noise from I-15. The road near the rig had little traffic also. We could hear the flow of the Creek as we slept. What a great place!

It was only about 1:00 local Mountain Time, but we were hoping to get the room early and rest. We stopped at a Dairy Queen. I needed a small lunch to hold me over until the evening. I have been blessed with generally great weather. Today was sunny and cool. West Yellowstone was at 34 degrees yesterday morning. I left Bozeman at 8:30 am. It was 64 degrees and prayed by the time I hit West Yellowstone the temp. would not be 34. As I traveled down US191 the temp dropped to 54. I stopped and put on another layer when a helicopter hovered above me with a telephone pole attached. I tried to get a picture but only got the cable ...
