Our first view of Lee Vining located on the edge of Mono lake was just beautiful! The pastel coloured lake, sky and distant mountains seemed to be like a painting and not a real scene before us (something that seems to be a common theme recently)!

We couldn’t have ended the day better than checking into our wooden cabins, having a drink on the ...

We could feel the weekend crowds coming back as we stopped by Raleigh to pick up a few things. Queues at the checkout were massive so its good that we are leaving this Saturday.

We had intended to try and pick him up but by now the traffic had built up and a number of streets were closed due to road works and so we returned to the Amtrak station to wait and lo and behold, there he was! It was lovely to see him again and on the journey back to Tahoe there was a lot of catching up. We found that it wasn't too much of a squash in the back of ...
