          ... was terrified of the bears- they can break the glass of the windows. They were around as we saw someone had left a rubbish bag out and in the morning it was all strewn across the road. I saw two bald eagles-one carrying a fish.

          Saturday was a miserable weather day. Much cooler here 55 fahrenheit compared to 80 in Sacramento. We had a log fire going.

          ... and pine trees that make the scenery even better. The water here is absolutely crystal clear and I haven't seen too many lakes that are this clean. We probably drove another 20 minutes to enter the California side of Tahoe, which is much more developed. We still stopped at all the beaches if there were any, but most of the California side was developed with houses and not public beaches. The houses were actually mostly cabins, which I liked. ...

          Reflecting on our time here, its been a wonderful relaxing and easy start to our 2 month ski trip. Out of the ten days here, we only skied four but we were able to fill all the other days with trips on or around the lake. These times will never be forgotten.
