It was a great couple of weeks skiing, I arrived into LA at 23:00 and straightaway headed up the coast to San Francisco. I had a little sleep in the car at about 5:00 for a couple of hours then arrived into San Francisco about 13:00, got my self a pair of custom fitted ski boots and then headed to Lake Tahoe.

Kirkwood is located in the high Sierra about 30 miles south of the lake and is not really considered a Lake Tahoe region ski area. Although it has somewhat of a base village it caters more to weekenders and day-trippers from northern California than serves as a ...

... snow on the tarmac - they called it 'freezing drizzle' - temperature -1 degree - enough time for breakfast - eggs, applewood smoked bacon, potato wedges, and toast being the popular choice among all travellers in this particular cafe - so, who are we to buck the trend? Lots of waiting around - go for a walk, stretch the legs, investigate anything and everything to kill the time - finally our flight is called and we board. 3.5 hours later we touch down in Reno - they have ...
