It ended up taking us 12 hours to make the "short" 8 hour drive. So much for our plans to get home early!
So this is the final detailed budget tally. Turned out to be a pretty low-cost vacation - especially since we did many "bucket list" activities that are typically super expensive.

We really have enjoyed our stay here. All the places we chose to rent things from were fabulous.
The plan was to leave Saturday morning at 7am. We ended up leaving about 7:45am (I blame the Lys!). We used walkie talkies to stay in touch between our 2 vehicles which worked out pretty well when we lost cell signal in the mountains (plus the Lys don't have a ...
... end, the worst days of my life. In fact my life was completely & brutally destroyed.
After 10 years dedicated to life in England & being forced to give it up, for me to decide to go through something like this again is painfully brave but I remain devoid of fear.
I made a promise to myself to travel & experience new things & places at least until I was 30 and I will do just that.
Life is for living.
