... of the peaks in the Great Smokey Mountains National Park. As you can see in the pictures I posted, there is a part in the range that allows you to put one foot in North Carolina and Tennessee at the same time...very cool!!! I also got to see beautiful waterfalls that cascade throughout the mountains. Finally, we took pictures by part of the Appalachian trail, that extends from Georgia to Maine. Colleen told me about a hiker who actually ...
Day 1 - Friday night, we drove from spartanburg to gatlinburg and arrived at the river terrace. It was lightly snowing on our ride up and was it was still snowing when we got to gatlinburg. We got to our room and then went for a walk to get ice cream. We got back to our room for some nice fireside time and relaxing. Day 2 - Saturday we woke up late, had some pop tarts and researched for going to ober gatlinburg. After riding up ...
... head home on Saturday. The weather here has been crazy cold - not unlike the cold that the north has been experiencing, but God - I'm 775 miles south of Toronto and like they say here in Tennessee - "it's colder that a witches tit in a brass bra laying face down in the snow". The long term plan is for it to warm up over the next couple of days, but unlike Ontario - the schools have been closed now for three full days and the roads are dry - it's just "too cold". It's day 35 since ...
We left Bradyville on Saturday, January 04th and headed to Deborah's hometown of Oak Ridge/Knoxville. Deb's best friend in the world, Jean Norris was kind enough to drive the two hours to middle Tennessee to pick us up. After a brief stop at Jean's to unload the luggage, we headed to a local Oak Ridge institution, Big Ed's Pizza. I'd heard about this place briefly when I was in Canada and thought that I'd just have to see it for myself. I didn't realize the history here. Big Ed's ...

Historical Traveler Reviews Best Western Toni Inn Pigeon Forge
Wasnt too happy
We stayed at the Toni Inn for 2 nights 12/26/04 - 12/28/04. Room rate
was 70$ per night, after using the discount on their website. Room was
spacious and clean with 2 queen beds and microwave and refrigerator.
The breakfast was dismal, with no hot items like eggs or bagel
and cheese. Water ran cold during peak shower time, between 8 and 10 am.
We had to go and pick up extra pillows and soap from the reception
desk, as they didnt have anyone to deliver them to our room in the
evening or early morn. Motel was centrally located, 20 mins drive
from the entrance of Smokey Mountains, and close to shopping and
Loved the BW Toni Inn
Just returned from a 3 night stay at the Best Western Toni Inn. The folks at the Toni Inn were very friendly and there to answer any questions you have. Our room was great! The hot tub was wonderful after a day of walking. Several restaurants were within walking distance. The hotel offered "play an exta day" Dollywood tickets that gave us two days admission for the price of one day. The room rate was great anyway, but their web site offered an additional % off coupon that we presented at check in that saved us another $37.00 over our 3 day stay. We really enjoyed our stay!
We just returned from a trip to the Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg area and stayed for 5 nights at the Best Western Toni Inn. The hotel was clean and well kept - they even had someone sweeping the parking lot. The pools were cleaned every morning and stayed open late - both indoor and outdoor were heated and there were hot tubs at both. They offered a continental breakfast which included english muffins, toast, 4 kinds of cereal, instant oatmeal and grits, apple juice, orange juice, coffee/tea, milk and donuts. It would have been nice to have some fruit available though. The bed was comfortable and the room spacious with a small fridge, microwave, coffee maker, full size iron/ironing board, hairdryer. The room we had included a King size bed and a fireplace (I think all the King rooms include a fireplace). My only "con" to the hotel is the fact that on their website when you book the room there is a notation to be sure to check their website for a coupon for 15% off a Sunday-Thursday stay. We printed the coupon and presented it at check-in but were told that the rate we received already included the discount which was contrary to how it was presented when booking on-line. All of the people we came into contact with were very friendly. The hotel is located on the far end of the parkway away from the hustle/bustle and surrounded mostly by other hotels but within walking distance of restaurants and across the street from the Dixie Stampede - in the morning you can watch them move the horses through the parking lot to the viewing area in the front of the theater. Overall, we would stay here again.
The Toni Inn deserves a Tony Award !!

My family and I stayed in the Best Western Toni Inn in Pigeon Forge and it was a wonderful stay. Everyone who worked there was wonderful...
Great room for a great price!
Loved my stay at the Best Western Toni Motel in Pigeon Forge, TN...the price of the room excellent and excellent service.
Saved our vacation
Give them your business! After another motel changed our reservations, I found the Toni Inn which was less expensive, had the rooms we wanted, was clean and up to date, and the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Thank you, Toni Inn!
It was ok, I think I could find a better place
The Best Western Toni is in a great location. We walked to the Dixie Stampede. However, we made our reservations months ago and were put on the third floor. I didn't have a problem, but my 54 year old mother had difficulty with the stairs. The ice machine didn't work and there were ants in the bathroom when we arrived. The price was ok, but I think we can find somewhere nicer for the same amount of money in Pigeon Forge since there are numerous places to stay.
Grat Place to Stay!
We just returned from our trip to Pigeon Forge, TN. We would definitely stay at this hotel again! It was right across the street from the Dixie Stampede. The hotel's pools were great... my kids loved it! The room was very clean and had a refrigerator which made it great for soda, etc. Breakfast was milk, 2 juices, cereals, donuts, toast and bagels...
nothing fancy but enough to start your day. Prices were extremely reasonable. Everywhere we went they gave us coupons for various places and food. Hotel had buy one day at Dollywood get the second day free.
I have made it a point to visit the Toni Best Western Motel in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee annually. I go down to swim but also to enjoy the room and surroundings. The accommodations are excellent. I even rented a suite one time on an upper floor over the indoor pool. They have an elevator just a few feet from the indoor pool. They also have a heated whirlpool sauna just steps from the indoor pool. Both indoor and outdoor pools are heated but I have enjoyed the indoor pool most. On some occasions, I have been only person in the pool all by myself. The rooms are spacious and very nice. I have never had a bad experience in all the years I have visited there. I like it being so very close also to the roadway over to Gatlinburg which is at foot of Smoky Mountains. The rates are much more reasonable in Pigeon Forge and it is just a short drive to Gatlinburg which is a famous tourist attraction. I would recommend you remember to advise the front desk at check-in if you are a Senior Citizen, AAA Auto Club member or AARP member to obtain best possible room rate. Once you get your room, you can always request to stay additional days. I have checked out some of the other motels/hotels in Pigeon Forge and the rates at the Toni Best Western are competitive. You get what you pay for. I will always cherish my memories of staying at the Toni Best Western Motel in Pigeon Forge, and enjoying the food in the area and attractions. Health permitting, I will continue to make the 9 and 1/2 hour drive down one way from Michigan.
