    ... desert later in the evening. All in all we could not have asked for friendlier and more accommodating people. During our Northern American travels we have experienced such friendliness and more than any of our previous trips.

    This large mountain of exposed granite features a carving of Robert E Lee, Stone wall Jackson and Jefferson Davis on the face of the mountain.

    Take the tram or hike to the top. A train circle the mountain which is mostly surrounded by man-made lakes with opportunity for boating. In addition to grassy areas and walking trails, the park offers a museum for indoor respite.
