... 3 ran toward the far northwest corner and appeared to present the most diversity of both terrain and forest type. We ventured through the huge old growth trees and had a wonderful, exhilarating time. Of course, we whined because the Trail #3 seemed to be always going uphill, but if one thinks about it, by the time you reach back to the starting point, didn't we go down just the same elevation as we went up? I don't know, sometimes these things get ...

    ... were there first.

The last two days of the trip are pretty much driving with food stops. We had two 6-hour stretches and then a 2-hour stretch. To pass the time, we have still been listening to some audiobooks, but we’ve also been playing a game called Rubberneckers. It’s basically I-Spy for the car. We have to find everything from cars being pulled over to specific billboards to finding other people in their car singing or ...

There was an eerie feeling to it. We googled ...

... left, we all ended up talking for quite a while as it rained outside.

After getting a ride back to the lot with those guys, we walked back up to the library for some free wifi and a chance to peruse their book sale. I found The Poisonwood Bible by Barbara Kingsolver, which I've wanted to read since finishing Prodigal Summer. I’ve been told for a while now that I would love her writing so I’m finally reading her and of course, I’m loving every word ...

    No show day!

... card. The coloring book money is going into a savings account (we can cash advances off of our card straight into our account which is really handy) for us to live off of this winter.

The day was really wonderful…John and Beth arrived around 5:15pm and we all had dinner at the cookhouse. After Beth took off for home, John and I cracked open a bottle of wine and did a mini-Girls marathon (we’re just now getting into this show and we LOVE it) before going to ...
