... and a half. The landscape is mountainous and very interestingly so. The peaks are not at all like the Alberta Rockies, but neither do they resemble the BC mountains. They are a combination of both, in my opinion, and they views are beautiful. About half the distance to Helena we come upon a sign that tells us that the mountains are the Big Belt range and there is a turn off called Recreation Road. We take this road. It winds its way around and through ...

What was supposed to be an easy short ride sure didn't turn out that way! I intended to stay in Oregon near the Idaho border tonight but I have to say that I just couldn't get myself to spend the night in Eastern Oregon. "Slab Day", as the motorcycle guys call days of heavy freeway riding...

From Utah, we had an easy drive up to Salt Lake City, and then about an hour detour as we went straight West so we could add Nevada to our list of "states we've stepped foot on".

The cool part about the detour was that it took us right past the Bonneville Salt Flats. I've always wanted to see those.

      What cracked me ...

      Boy, see Idaho!
