Goodbye Mullaway

A travel blog entry by ath-dave

... out of mothballs and we cycled most days - not too far mind you - but I could feel it doing my knees good.
Isn't it amazing how the weather influences the enjoyment of camping. We had rain for one day while here and what happened? We discovered a leak in the van and the car got a flat tyre - waited all week for the third thing! It was the first flat tyre we ...

... d get a taxi instead, the bus journey was long and there was some right weirdos on there, made me cringe!! We stopped at a cafe where I had my first ever dim sim and let me tell you, it was amazing! yummy goodness! Then back on the coach I fell asleep for a bit, I didn't end up getting to Coffs Harbour till 1am, I got a taxi to hostel then had to try and find what bed was free, when I finally did I had to try make it in the dark, was hard! ... to Byron Bay. I was very excited to get there as so many people said it was brilliant. I arrive in mid afternoon and check into The Holiday Village. Good vibe from the beginning with lots of people milling around. I met a lovely couple from Dublin, Scott and Laura. Always great to meet some fellow Irish. That evening I arranged to meet Amy , who I met in Laos for dinner. Great to catch up and meet her friend Taegen. A few drinks were consumed in the Beach Hotel, good spot ...

With the car fully loaded with 7 passengers and a roof pod bursting, the 7 hours in the car for our drive to Coffs Harbour went very quickly. Spotto was being yelled at rapid pace and the 16 items on the list were being whittled away by everyone. Even Nat, who at our first pit stop was last with a dismal score of zero, came to life (coffee being said life giver). ...

Brisbane to Coffs Harbour

... It was almost dinner time so we went down the cafe and had a drink before dinner. Mum and I shared a mocktail and dad had a well-deserved beer. I drank most of mum's drink though! Then we went for a walk around the grass and watched the clouds and the birds flying by.

At dinner, I did lots of drawing and colouring in. Dad drew a few things for me including an owl, and Nanna and Pa.

I slept aaaaaaalllll night! Flynn xo
