20 years later and finally make it back to Kentucky!! Even though the last time I saw my family here I was 8 years old, It seems like everyone is just the way I remember them. It's amazingly comforting. We stopped on Lovers Lane to see my meme. I've always loved that she lived on Lovers Lane in Paris, KY. Jackie was there, Angie came by with her kids.. those 2 are like Tara, Heather and myself when we're together. Talked to pepe on the phone, but wasn't able ...

... thorough tour of the whole process. The distillery is massive and there are a lot of steps that go into making bourbon. I have forgotten a lot of it already but it was an interesting experience. The whole place smelled of yeast and alcohol so I couldn’t tell if it smelled disgusting or delicious. Haha! A fun fact I learned is that to be considered bourbon it has to be aged in a barrel that has never been used before so all the barrels are one ...

... back to the good ol atlas when the electronics failed or somehow got mixed up. We have been lost and found several times, but enjoyed even those drives. There is so much to see in all these old communities. We arrived about 30 minutes before the band returned from their trip to St Louis for a band competition. Surprised both kids that we were there to meet them too. Came back to homemade chicken soup and homemade bread. We have been on the road ...

Boy, is the state of Kentucky pretty! We entered the western part of the state and drove along picturesque route 80 and wound our way to the "Horse Capital of the World", Lexington. The gentle rolling hills with handsome horse farms are everything you hope they'd be. The farms and horses are drop dead gorgeous!

      ... it's all about breeding!
      There
are only 3 major farms with white fences, the rest have black. Some
farms are very fancy and some very modest. The most modest one we went
to was Magdalena Farm where the 2 fastest horses are trained. We got to
walk by their stalls and pet them! Flashy American $5 million and
      Rosalind $3 million, I believe. So ...
