Our last stop has been Gatlinburg, TN. We enjoyed our visit to the Dixie Stampede and Dollywood. Jim looked all over the place, high and low but never saw Dolly! We ran into the Compton's from Lexington who happened to be here too. We enjoyed having dinner together with Ben, Suzanne, Charlie and Nancy. It was nice to have friends to enjoy a meal with again.

It will be wonderful to be back in South Carolina even though there will be lots of changes from ...

... YEEUCH! The rain was so bad at times I couldn't see a thing and found myself peering around my screen looking for the white line on the side of the road just to see where we were headed. It was not a comfortable ride at all. As Jude said, we used our imagination on what it would have looked like, especially in the fall. This is a ride I would live to come back and do. We printed maps and hiking trail descriptions, packed some snacks and water, hopped in the car and drove off. We navigated about 30 miles west of Rodgersville (heading away from the craziness in Bristol), passing mountains and ...

        ... sup>th – day 108

We relaxed for the day at Yogi
campground. In the morning Kaitlin bought and coloured a t-shirt.
$8.50 for an hours entertainment and a souvenir. Good deal. We
almost went on a walk. Ben headed out beforehand to follow the sign
we had seen for Mingo Falls. It said 2 miles which seemed doable but
we have had experience walking with our children many times on this
trip and wanted to now what the ...
