... worked, worshiped, hundereds of years ago. It felt a little like invading space that was not there for me, somewhat educational and mostly I heard a lot of opinions about this or that concerning the civilization. The structures were amazing and the history was All very interesting. It must have been amazingly hard to live during that time. Of course for many people of the world today, this is not an easy time to live ...
Durango, Colorado, United States mistyandmark... mountain town that has grown because of the railroad that stops here. We met some lovely people from New Mexico, Lisa and Brad, who camped next to us with their dog and 2 cats. Tomorrow we are headed North along a scenic route through the San Juan National Forest. RVing is the best.
Durango, Colorado, United States meluebke... t-shirt that I wore that day was almost black with sweat by the time I got to the top.

But what a view! I felt such a sense of accomplishment! Despite the fact that there was dirt in my socks, my pants were caked with mud, my calf muscles were cursing, and my arms refused to leave my side, the view of the Durango community atop of that mountain was a reward in itself. When I have a chance, I will post pictures.

Of course! One picture is with ...
Durango, Colorado, United States meluebkeHello from Durango, Colorado!

My parents and I had a tearful good-bye before leaving Carbondale, CO this morning. Our second bus had yet to arrive so my Dad went to go and get some coffee at a nearby coffee shop. I was among 15-20 people waiting for the second bus to arrive because there was no room on the first bus for our large luggage. As soon as Dad left, the second bus showed up. I became hysterical, thinking that I wouldn't ...

No wonder they were an hour late.

Unfortunately, the camera battery was charging back at the house. While it was nice to have a light load, the cell phone camera doesn't produce great shots. Better than nothing though.
Mancos, Colorado, United States awhidden... Planet book. Well deserved, too - we stuffed our faces with a huge and excellent meal of Mexican food again. We ran back to the SUVs through the pouring rain, and proceeded on through the desert towards Colorado. The scenery was quite beautiful - the rain really does bring out the colors of the desert. The roads were a little confusing, and we took a couple of wrong turns, which ended up getting us into our next destination ...
Durango, Colorado, United States kitkrozserDrove from Grand Canyon to Durango Co and stopped at Four Corners for a picture. The drive through Arizona and New Mexico shows us all how lucky we are. Arrived in Durango about 6:30 pm dinner at Gaspaucho's, great Mexican food. Drove to the Blair compound above Durango. Bob Blair became Catholic Saturday before Easter.

The National Parks probably got the recipe from the artifacts they have in the museum. We had a wonderful dinner in Durango and was impressed with their downtown area. We don't have time on this trip to take the railroad to Silverton, but will save that for the next time we are in Durango. Our focus is now heading the big bikes back ...
Durango, Colorado, United States pmsymes... rider capital of the world) and then on to US 84 through Abiquiu, Cebolla, Los Ojos and into Chama. The skies are dark and growing darker as we leave Espanola, but we manage to avoid the rainfall with only a few drops falling on us into Chama. In Chama we stop for fuel and don't have the sense to don our rainsuits even though the skies are darkening and temperatures cooling. We continue North on US 84 across the New Mexico/Colorado border through Chromo ...
