As we left town the clouds rolled in and we started gaining elevation and walking up into them. The fog was dense and claustrophobic with rain and wind blowing all around. Rain has a different affect on the mind and body when there is no shelter in site and ...

Although it was nearly 5pm, it didn't seem to take long for us to arrive at our overnight stop in Tehachapi. Mum got out to have a look, but very quickly returned informing us that we were simply not staying there because it was too windy and too cold. So we descended down the hill again and found another campground by Lake Brite.

We set up camp and found that although it was cold and windy still, it was an improvement, and we had a fantastic outlook over the lake.
