Hey Y'all from the Magnolia State! We're still in Mississippi, and it's still muggy. We're here because this is a town that James passed through while he was in the Navy, 20 plus years ago. He remembered it as a beautiful small town and idyllic - he was right, especially if you like to fish crappie. Again, we lucked out and found a great spot at a virtually empty campground at Grenada Lake. Had a ...

... then drove around Leland looking at the Highway 61 Project murals. We did not stop at the museum because our next stop was the B.B. King Museum in Indianola. The B.B. ... to figure out how to deal with that before we get to the desert! We crossed into Mississippi. There's hardly any traffic along hwy 82, just straight flat highway. We pulled into Greenwood, Mississippi around 3:30 local time and relaxed for awhile, then out to dinner. We picked up a few groceries for tomorrow and then called it a day.

We made good time today and have more driving tomorrow.

... on the side of a nice bass fishing lake (reservoir). Taking a walk to the lake at dusk we were startled by hundreds of turkey buzzards that were roosting above the trail. Made quite a noise when we startled a hundred of them.

Another stop was the tomb of Meriweather Lewis of the Lewis and Clark expedition. Lewis was Governor of the Louisiana territory when he was traveling the Trace on his way back from Washington ...
