... down towards the government buildings to see them lit up at night. Kind of reminded me of Main Street Disney World. Beautiful sight! Also, saw where the ferry station was, Blackball Ferry. Inquired as to the procedure for boarding and customs. Why get there 90 minutes early??? Guess pre-boarding and preliminary customs. Anyway, walked along the marina area and back to the hotel. Pleasant evening, great food, great company! On to Portland on Monday... or today as it really is! ...

... Returning to the hotel, there was time to relax before setting off for our evening meal at Il Terrazzo (rated 5th out of 1089 currently). It was necessary to book in advance and I was thankful I did because the place was packed and buzzing - great atmosphere. ... and we met the bus driver, Gordo. We found seats three rows from the front. The bus picked up a few other people from a couple of other hotels and then we were on our way.

We bussed to the ferry. The driver gave us an excellent commentary - he was very informative. The ferry crossing took 90 minutes and we found a good spot on the open deck for the journey. Vancouver Island was where we were headed. We bought a grilled chicken and salad pack to ...

Do yourself a favour and bring down a few good reusable water bottles, and pick up a big container of water at a supermarket before you leave -- or on the drive down. ... Those weeks were pretty chill and we didn't really do much. We watched a lot of movies and surprisingly enough were able to make time in between to make plans for the next step of the trip.

We left Lethbridge in the afternoon of Thursday the 7th on a Greyhound headed to Victoria. The total travel time was 25.5 hours... that's WAY longer than I've ever wanted to spend on a bus. We drove overnight though ...
