Today the road leads us to Roswell, New Mexico a town wrapped in Alien lore. The entire town seems to embrace the whole Alien theme and the overall atmosphere of the place reflects it as well.
Traveling through New Mexico was uneventful, very flat, dry terrain with scrub brush as far as the eye could see. There were areas where I could see further in all directions than anywhere ...
... considering how flat it was around there.
After lunch at a spot called "Farley's", where we split a special grilled chicken sandwich and onion rings, we headed to the Roswell Historical Museum which is located in a 1910 prairie or schooner style house, the design of which was developed by Frank Lloyd Wright. The house contains 14 rooms, 3 baths, the attic and basement, 10'6" ceilings and narrow hard wood floors; ...
... completely insane within a week.
Not knowing what to do, I stayed put and thought about it and decided even with my money running out it was better to move on rather than stay there and end up being stuck in that hell hole until I went broke.
So back on the road! I felt immediately that I had made the right decision and I arrived in Roswell around 4 PM that day and was soothed by the orderly streets, the clean lines, the depictions of little green aliens everywhere ...
... was an interesting kind of stop. In our book it said that it was a Wild West Town, but, not so much. It was an old town, but not really what we were expecting. There was a lot of buildings made up to look like old buildings, and there was a couple of museums. It really was not worth the hour we spent there, and not really worth writing any more about :)
The third thing we saw was a leaning water tank (I can see how excited you all are), it was there, so ...
