    ... the short drive to the other side of Palm Springs to the aerial tramway at Chino Canyon which goes up 8500ft. The gondola is amazing as it rotates as it climbs so you see the rock walls of the canyon on one side and the desert and City way below as you ascend, the swaying as it goes over each support is quite something too.     ... 10 minute ascent. At the top, some 8516ft up, the temperature was a rest from the heat below with amazing views. We could see all the way to the Saltan Sea (a lake really!) & even to the hills near Las Vagus some 350 miles away. We stopped for a drink admiring the view then headed down. We did a quick stop at a car showroom to have nose at some classic cars for auction then headed back to the Motel to chill by the pool for the afternoon. We had a lovely lazy time ...
