... d met in Mississippi at our campground in Columbus, stopped by for a visit. They were returning home to Ft Worth after purchasing two Rail Road cars from an estate in Sacramento.
What a unique sight. They're the rail cars that railroad repairmen used to ride on the rails to do any needed repairs. Apparently, there are quite a few clubs of enthusiasts who get together and travel on seldom used tracks, mainly in Idaho, Montana and Oregon. How neat.
We did it!!!!!
We made it to downtown Yuma by 7 a.m. this morning to view the Balloon Ascensions that started at 7:15 a.m. It was something to see. We were able to walk around on the field among the participants. It was chilly there this morning, but warm again this afternoon.
We have arrived in Yuma at 3:30 p.m.
The Yuma Balloon Festival begins tomorrow morning, with the first launch at 7:00 a.m. and who thinks we will be there for the first launch? On Saturday and Sunday they launch at 6:00 a.m. We decided we wanted to view these balloons way back in Texas, it was ...
It was a rather tricky drive getting outside of Prescott, Az. That's a road we'll never take again in our motorhome. The road isn't something I'd recommend even if driving a car. Craig earned his stripes that day. Drove thru Quartzite; it looks the same as usual ...

The drive from Phoenix to Yuma via I-10 East and I-8 West was fairly short and pretty uneventful, punctuated as it was by Marty Robbins cowboy ballads and three back-to-back episodes of the Shadow: Radio’s Greatest Man of Mystery.

Yuma, Arizona, United States jimcabay... we wanted. Probably help us not snack most of the day too!!! Many of the Po-Kee-No players will be gone to the casino to play bingo so I rooked Dale into playing tonight. That is a feat in itself. He is one lucky guy so we shall see how he does with this game. He is playing on my pennies so he better do good or it will be another trip to the bank. So that was our exciting day. It was so nice just to do nothing. Finally! We hope you all are well and happy wherever you are.
Yuma, Arizona, United States dusterbin... were expecting the sheriff to welcome us and the musical theme to the Good, Bad, & Ugly to play in the background! Instead, what we found was a vibrant community with a small town feel (as small town as any place in Arizona can really get!!) The desert dunes brought back flashbacks of my trip to the Chilean desert (refer to my Latin America blog).
