... a cocktail! We decide to have dinner the hotel restaurant & have a reasonably early night but I’m only managing an average of 6 hours a night at this point. A few hiccups at the hotel but nothing serious that can't be fixed.
Sunday & our first day of hop on/hop off bus tour. The hotel shuttle to nearest metro station, subway ride for just the one very long stop & we get above ground onto the Hollywood walk of fame & Grauman’s Chinese ...

We walked through the House of Horrors, showcasing many of the studios monsters of the past. It was pretty dark & there were actors who gave us many a surprising shock ... or shocking surprise. The bits of cotton hanging down in places ...
... beach area and get some dinner. The temperature was just about perfect today, around 78 and Redondo Beach really wasn't crowded. We walked along the pier and dunked our toes in the Pacific. The pier seemed to be more of an actual fishing pier, with lots of people lined up all over, looking for a perfect spot.

... the areas of LA we were used to, it stank and was completely run down - it was like something you'd see on a Mexican gangster film (perhaps we have)! We looked at getting a cab but they were $30 dollars so instead we braved it and waited for a bus back home. We waited for what seemed like 3 hours but really it was about 30 minutes - worst 30 minutes ever.
