Once we reached Venice the atmosphere was a bit more bohemian and the vibe decent, but we soon head inland to some road that was supposed to be good with independent shops etc. It wasnt good and we wish we hadn't bothered as Venice Beach was much more interesting. Oh well.

Mom also liked all the trees and Palm trees, Heidi was also surprised to see such big fig ...

So we piled back into the car and headed down toward the actual Walk of Fame. Parking looked to be a real problem (another huge difference on this trip is Kat's disability, which means that we have to try to park much closer to things), until we discovered that ...

... another colder than average, very snowy winter. There were several snowfalls over 1 foot before I left. My yard was buried in snow. I had a path shoveled out to the driveway and you could see how deep the snow was ... and that had already settled a bit.

My neighbor Janice drove me to the airport to get the shuttle to JFK. The shuttle ride was uneventful except that the ceiling vents in the shuttle van blew cold air and my foot got numb ...
