    ... driving by our breakfast spot - even smaller world. Since she hails from San Diego it was so great to see them and her mom brought her bike to ride with us! She actually beat us up one hill - my only way to cope was this was to tell myself we had just battled the desert the days prior, but in reality Mrs Hill is a kickass bike rider and it was such a pleasure to watch mom/daughter biking through the mountains with us... Hope to do it ...

    ... and on the beach. The land sloping down toward the Pacific Ocean and low surf. Lots of young surfers, Jack goes all prudish on us. Complaining about kids stripping their board shorts off in the street while changing....we tease him, the three of us saying he doesn't HAVE to look.     ... with those "love me" eyes when you stop patting her. She has slept in my bed a few nights now and has tried for more but I don't like sleeping with the door open. She joins me on the couch and I know when to move to the side to let her snuggle in beside me. She has successfully made me want to get a dog when I get back to Australia.
