... the crack of down to catch shuttles to the airport for super early morning flights. One girl had to be outside at 2:30 and another guy at 3:15. I told the story of the missing food and one girl told how all her shoes went missing in a hostel. She walked around barefoot for a day trying to find them or acquire new ones. Apparently you won't lose your money or your electronics here in New Zealand, but anything practical - you better watch out!

... After a night spend in an old Christchurch jailhouse turned hostel, we headed out to explore the city.

First stop? The movie theatre to watch the final Hobbit movie IN NEW ZEALAND!!!! Movie theaters are pretty swanky. We celebrated our reunion with champagne, dwarfs, elves and Bilbo. Not to be deterred though we set off into ...

Today Trina and I decided to have a leisurely morning as we both we were fatigued from the train trip yesterday and still being a little jet lagged.

Midday came and we decided to venture into Christchurch. There is a regular bus service into Christchurch, so we walked a short distance to the bus stop and waited for the next bus. The bus routes are easy to follow, they are given a colour and the bus for that route is the same colour. We were on the ...

... the very different city of Christchurch.

As our penultimate day dawned, we did something that we should have done a long time ago. Having never seen either of the Hobbit films and with NZ being the home of the films we watched both 'The Hobbit-An Unexpected Journey' and 'The Hobbit-The Desolation of Smaug' with big smiles on our faces. Despite their incredibly long running time and inferiority to the Lord of the Rings films, it was certainly ...
